An access to information request was submitted to the National Parks Administration, which replied as follows: “As of June 2025, out of a current total of 43 Protected Areas that are required to have Fire Management Plans due to some level of wildfire risk, progress has been made with the drafting and approval of 30 plans. Of the remaining 13, 10 (Los Cardores NP, El Rey NP, Pizarro NP, Perito Moreno NP, Ansenuza NP, Los Glaciares NP, Lago Puelo NP, Islas de Santa Fe NP, Pre-Delta NP, and Traslasierra NP) have already begun or are well advanced in their drafting process. In the other three (Laguna El Palmar NP, Colonia Benítez Educational NR, and El Leoncito NP), as they are recently created areas or have very low wildfire risk, the process is expected to begin in the coming months, with timelines depending on prioritization and personnel assignments by each area.

Regarding the implementation and evaluation of the Operational Plans, it is reported that, to date, practically all protected areas with an approved fire management plan have submitted both the assessment and the 2025 annual operational fire plan, which were reviewed by the technical staff of the Directorate for Combating Forest Fires and Emergencies and approved by the corresponding administrative act.”
