Detail
Resolution No. 817/2023 established the National Charging Infrastructure Registry, with mandatory registration for all charging points and provision for a public map. This registry would have enabled systematic monitoring of progress under the measure, but it was repealed by Resolution No. 22/2025 without an alternative monitoring system being implemented.
In response to access-to-information requests, the Secretariat of Transport stated that it did not have the requested data at the level of detail and consolidation required to monitor the target established in the National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan.
According to media reports, there are at least 230 charging stations for electric vehicles across 19 provinces, 56.9% of which are concentrated in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the Province of Buenos Aires. There is no breakdown by vehicle type or segment, and the total figure represents only a minimal fraction of the tens or hundreds of thousands of chargers envisaged for 2030. The assigned category is “No progress”.
