Law No. 27,640/2021 establishes a minimum bioethanol blending requirement of 12% in gasoline, with no maximum limit. Since the law entered into force, the bioethanol blend has remained at the minimum level of 12%. Any modification to these percentages falls within the authority of the Secretariat of Energy of Argentina.

No official measures have been recorded to increase the bioethanol blending percentage to 15%, nor have there been any announcements that would allow compliance with the target to be projected within the established timeframe. Therefore, the objective is considered “Impossible to achieve”.
