FIRST ANALYSIS OF THIS OBJECTIVE CONDUCTED IN AUGUST 2025
Category
Impossible to achieve
Detail
The latest State of the Environment Report uses data up to 2023 and was published on 18 December 2024. It compiles information by environmental topic but does not include a chapter analysing and assessing the measures under the National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan that have been implemented or are planned for implementation. However, the First Progress Report on the Implementation of the Second National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan, containing information up to 2023, and the 2024 First Biennial Transparency Report were published in November 2024. Both are separate reporting channels and do not replace the requested inclusion in the State of the Environment Report, although they provide some of the information that should be incorporated into the annual report.
According to the responses to the information requests, a second progress report on the National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan was not planned for 2025. In this context, and given that as at 15 August 2025 the required content had not been incorporated into the State of the Environment Report and there was no evidence of political commitment to include it in the next edition, the objective was considered “Impossible to achieve” for 2024 and 2035.
