Detail
The project “Increasing Health-Sector Capacities and Strengthening Coordination on Climate Action in Argentina at the National and Subnational Levels” (Green Climate Fund Readiness Project, 2022–2024) applied World Health Organization tools to estimate health co-benefits—HEAT, GreenUr, AirQ+ and ClimaQ-H—in pilot exercises in Misiones, Neuquén and Tucumán. ClimaQ-H has the greatest potential for nationwide use, but it could not be implemented in a manner adapted to local conditions due to insufficient data and capacity.
There is no nationally validated and adopted tool approved through a resolution, nor is there a protocol, manual or integration with health information systems. The First Progress Report on the Implementation of the Second National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan notes the exploratory application of ClimaQ-H and local measures relating to green spaces and active transport, but does not formalise nationwide adoption. There is also no evidence that progress is being made towards the preparation of a report on this matter.
