FIRST ANALYSIS OF THIS OBJECTIVE CONDUCTED IN AUGUST 2025

CATEGORY

Impossible to achieve within the established timeframe

DETAIL

According to the First Progress Report of the National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan, preliminary risk assessments were prepared for 3 of the 4 parks included in the 2023 target: Campos del Tuyú, Copo and Talampaya. This work included identifying information needs, developing risk chains, validation with technical teams, and mapping actions included in the management plans that could constitute adaptation measures. In the case of Los Alerces National Park, progress was limited to preliminary diagnostic work and the development of risk chains.

In addition, a specific assessment was conducted for Los Glaciares National Park, which was not included in the target but was requested by the National Parks Administration. No public information was found on progress in El Palmar National Park, reinforcing the conclusion that adaptation has not been fully mainstreamed into the management plans.

To date, there is no published evidence that adaptation measures have been formally integrated into approved management plans or that a systematic mechanism is in place to monitor the target. The objective is therefore considered “Impossible to achieve within the established timeframe”.
