Detail

As of August 2025, no official responses were available to determine the degree of progress made or the existence of political intent to ensure that Ramsar Sites have management plans that mainstream adaptation. The formal responses received from the National Parks Administration and the Undersecretariat of Environment address other matters.

However, the research conducted indicates that the 2022 Bahía Samborombón Management Plan includes a specific assessment of the “effects of climate change and coastal erosion”, as well as a programme containing objectives and actions aimed at “promoting the implementation of adaptation and mitigation measures”. In addition, for the Paraná Delta Ramsar Site, there is official evidence of a process to incorporate “Climate Change Adaptation into Ramsar Site Management Plans”, although an updated plan has not been published.
