Published onIn two years of implementation, the Argentina Recicla program—together with the Secretariat for Urban Social Integration of the Ministry of Social Development—advanced the construction of 26 Recycling Plants with an investment of ARS 2,693,000,000. However, only 11 localities are named with works in progress: Moreno, Berisso, Lomas de Zamora, Lanús, Concordia, San Pedro, Santa Fe, Tucumán, Misiones, Córdoba, and Humahuaca. In addition, agreements were signed for the construction of two more Recycling Plants with the National Ministry of Public Works, in Andalgalá and General Pico.
According to national environmental authorities, three full Environmental Centers were built—with sanitary landfills, sorting plants, and complementary infrastructure—in Formosa, Concordia, and Villa María. A sorting and transfer plant was also executed in Quilmes, and a transfer plant in Moreno. Notably, the works in Luján and Santiago del Estero – La Banda were halted and are in the process of termination.
